MediaPortal Release Notes [MP RN]

The following items on the list encompass breaking changes, features, and fixes that are relevant for the major release.

Release 22.3.3

Breaking Changes

Updating to MediaPortal Release 22.3 requires an update of VidiCore to the version 22.3 if the MediaPortal should use the updated Event-Search.

Features

Custom MimeType Icons

Customize the MimeTypes representing media types or collections. For more information please view Result View Layout in MediaPortal [MP OG] | Custom-MimeType .

Updated Formats Tab

The updated Formats View contains new and additional entries and displays the information in a more condensed manner. It also comes with an option to individually delete shapes. For more information please view Details View [MP UG] | Formats .

Saved Searches with Favorites

The saves searches are now called Quick Searches and so that favorites can be stored. This is the same as setting a saved search as the default search, when a user logs in. For more information please view Filter [MP UG] | Quick-Search .

Add to Last Searches

Quickly return to the last 5 searches that have been entered via filter or combined with a query text. For more information please view How do I search for something? [MP UG] | Last-Searches.

Language Configuration

In addition to the existing languages English and German it is now possible to provide custom translations which can be uploaded in a mapping file. Language Upload

Add to Recent Collections

This convenience feature can be turned on by configuration. The MediaPortal will store the last 5 collections a user added content to. They will be then displayed along with the 'Add To Collection' dialog.

Custom VidiCore Job Dialog

It is now also possible to trigger VidiCore Jobs in a dialog similar to the VidiFlow dialog. It will start a job for each item selected. It can be set in ConfigPortal and allows one to handover TC IN and TC OUT information to the payload.

Trigger POST/PUT Calls from context Menu

Create generic POST or PUT calls from the context menu on an item. For more information please view Context Menu Items [MP OG] | Generic-POST/PUT-Calls

Event Search update

The Event Search has been updated to follow adjustments on the result view, supporting configuration on design and configuration. The back-end functionality is changed as well, resulting in faster searches and better performance. An update of VidiCore to 22.3 is necessary to utilize the backend changes.

Collection View

The collection view in MediaPortal now supports having partials displayed and also combines this with the search functionality.
