MediaPortal Release Notes [MP RN]
The following items on the list encompass breaking changes, features, and fixes that are relevant for the major release.
Release 22.4
Breaking Changes
Updating to MediaPortal Release 22.4 requires an update of VidiCore to the version 22.4 if the MediaPortal should use the updated Event-Search.

Features
Highlighting
MediaPortal now displays term matches within search results as highlighted. The highlight occurs within the search result fields and within the Events on the Preview Panel (Filter [MP UG] | Highlighting).
Event Search Update
Based on the VidiCore Update 22.4 the MediaPortal will use an optimized index for timed metadata searches.
Result Icon on Boolean
It is now also possible to define custom result icons for boolean fields. This can be done under the “BOOLEAN ICON” configuration page to adopt the views. For more details, please viewResult View Layout in MediaPortal [MP OG] | Custom-Icons .
Mute Button
Along with the keyboard control ‘M', users can also use the player’s mute button which is now available.
Custom Design
Via ConfigPortal, users can now create a custom theme with own colors and an adjusted logo. For more details, please view Product Customization [MP OG] .
CSV Export
Export search results can now be downloaded as CSV document. The metadata displayed can be configured Download Search Results CSV [MP OG] Actions [MP UG] | Export-Search-as-CSV .
Function Update
There are some additional updates added to existing functions:
Indicate if group is set under player
It now more transparent if there are already values set on a timed metadata group. This will be indicated by a number of existing entries per group:
Example: As signified with the counter next to the “Description”.
Copy file reference to clipboard
Set which file paths are displayed along the shapes. These can be directly added to the clipboard to streamline support and service tasks. Format [MP OG]
Search for relative TODAY
The TODAY filter is now updated and covers the actual day (based on user location).
Example: While this was covering a specific day before, this allows one to save a search for today’s recent ingests.
MediaPortal on Premiere
Import VidiEditor Projects
Import a VdiEditor Project intro Adobe Premiere, will take the project, a user created in VidiEditor and adds it as new sequence along with a project bin into the currently open Premiere Project.MediaPortal Panel [MP UG] | Import-VidiEditor-Projects
After Effects Support
The MediaPortal Panel can also be opened in Adobe After Effects, where it comes with a subset of features. It supports file and collection import into a Project MediaPortal Panel [MP UG] | After-Effects-Support
