Features
Subtitle Appearance Settings for Outline
The outline appearance settings for subtitles now also contain transparency and a margin for the outline. This for example allows a user to set a transparent background box that has some vertical and horizontal distance to the text. For more details, see Subtitle Marker .
Fast Forward and Backward Playback in the Timeline Player
It is now possible to playback timelines in the Timeline Player at different speeds. This can also be controlled using JKL keys like in the Source Player. For more details, see Timeline Preview Player and Timeline Player Shortcuts .
Import Premiere Projects to VidiEditor
An import functionality was introduced that enables users to find Premiere projects in the central VidiCore media repository allowing them to import these to VidiEditor as a new timeline. It is based on the precondition that MediaPortal created a Web Render JSON for the Premiere project and persisted it in VidiCore. The functionality is limited to possibilities of the Web Render Engine playback and the data transformation from Premiere to VidiEditor data. HiRes Paths in EDL Data
Via configuration, it is now possible to write information about HiRes paths into the VidiEditor EDL. This can be used to integrate 3rd parties like Playout servers or Streaming server that are picking up the EDL end playout a timeline directly in a renderless use case. VidiFlow Workflow Monitoring
A new monitoring area is realized in VidiEditor that can be expanded at right hand side of the application. It allows to monitor VidiFlow Workflows for example to track the results after publishing. It support active notification refreshing the monitoring information automatically as well as direct link to the VidiFlow monitor and MediaPortal items. Eventlist as a Rough Cut Import
Timecode-based metadata can be used not only for navigating the Source Player anymore. In addition it is now possible to drag eventlists to timeline which will be imported as a rough cut list, where each event gets imported to timeline as a segment. This is of advantage if eventlist data is available such as auto highlight detection or logging information. For more details, see Event List View .
Drag and Drop Support from 3rd Party
VidiEditor now supports drag-and-drop interactions from 3rd parties. This allows one to realize more convenient handover scenarios between a web page and VidiEditor. This is especially useful to import items or collections used in one frontend into VidiEditor for further usage. For example, this can be used to drag items from MediaPortal to a VidiEditor bin, timeline and Source Player. For implementation in other frontends then MediaPortal the Operation Guide provides a guideline on how to implement such functionalities. For more details, see Drag and Drop Interactions .
