Deprecation
Server Side Timeline Preview
Please note that the server side timeline preview is deprecated from version 23.3 on. It can be used until 24.1 with the feature set of 23.2. The server side timeline preview rendering will be removed in 24.2. New features related to the timeline preview will require usage of the web render engine.
Features
Undo / Redo History
A history of the undo / redo steps is now available to provide a better overview of recently done timeline interactions. This also allows to batch undo / redo in one user interaction. For more information, please see Undo / Redo .
Trigger Basic Workflows from Search Pane
Via configuration, a workflow can now be added for the result items in the search pane. Users can trigger a workflow from here with fixed variables. A good example of how this can be used is for a conversion of the used source media. For more information, please see Media Search Grid Configuration and Browse Content (Search) .
Changed Proxy Selection Logic
The proxy selection logic has been adjusted so the proxy is not only chosen by a given shape name, but also by the used frame rate compared between source media and timeline settings. For more information, please see General Configurations .
Multi Language Support for Subtitles
It is now possible to use multiple languages for the “stl_subtitle” metadata group. Subtitle Marker [VE UG] and Subtitles [VE OG]
Add Subtitle Marker for Configured Subtitle Metadata Groups
Users can use the add subtitle marker functionality now for all metadata groups configured to be usable as subtitles. Subtitle Marker [VE UG]
New About Dialog
The design of the about dialog is changed. For more information, please see About Dialog .
License Server support
VidiEditor now supports the Vidispine licensing server.
