VidiFlow Workflow Monitoring GUI [VE OG]
VidiEditor comes with a graphical user interface allowing to monitor progress of VidiFlow Worklows. This can easily be done while expanding it on the right hand side of the application:
This pops ou the monitoring results giving a basic overview as well as providing links to the VidiFlow Workflow Monitor for more detailed information or to the MediaPortal to find the related object in MediaPortal if existing and feed back by the Workflow. Basically the monitoring looks as follows if expanded.
To enable this option no configuration is needed, it will be available out of the box. Anyway some general configurations come to account as the monitoring component connects to different API's that need to be available. Following list provides an overview about the relevant aspects of System Endpoints configured in:
ConfigPortal → Global Settings → System Endpoints
System Endpoint Type | System Endpoint Name | Purpose |
---|---|---|
PF_WF_API | - | Query the VidiFlow Workflow Status to display result grid |
PF_WF_UI_NOTIFICATION | - | Receive active workflow notifications from VidiFlow |
GLOBAL_WORKFLOW_MONITOR | Workflow Monitor | Provides root Link to open Workflow in VidiFlow Monitor as deep link (Click on button) |
PF_PRODUCT_ENDPOINT | mediaportal | Provides root Link to open referenced object as deep link for MediaPortal (Click on button) |
Additionally it should be mentioned that not all workfows of the system installation are presented in the monitors grid. The GUI filters for all workflows configured for the VidiEditor application in ConfigPortal as well as for the logged in user. This allows to monitor all VidiFlow workflows relevant in scope of VidiEditor for the logged in user. If other filtering required this can be done granularily in the VidiFlow monitor or in MediaPortal workflow monitoring for users or objects.
Please not that also workflows from other apps might be shown in case that the same workflow is triggered for example from VidiEditor and from MediaPortal.
