The following items on the list encompass breaking changes, features, and fixes that are relevant for the major release.

Deprecation
Server Side Timeline Preview
Please note that the server side timeline preview is deprecated from version 23.3 on. It can be used until 24.1 with the feature set of 23.2. The server side timeline preview rendering will be removed in 24.2. New features related to the timeline preview will require usage of the web render engine.
Features
Rolling Edit Trim Mode
A new trim mode has been implemented to allow rolling edit. This allows the user to shift over a cut between 2 timeline segments instead of trimming the individual in and out points separately. For more information, see Rolling Edit [VE UG] and Trimming Segments .
Subtitling
VidiEditor supports a subtitle use case to allow users setting subtitles via markers and hand those over to the publish item or burn them into the target video on publish. For more information, see Subtitle Marker [VE UG] and Subtitles [VE OG] and Source Preview Player Functions and Timeline Marker Pane .
New global Keyboard Shortcuts for Timeline Player navigation
New global shortcuts for Timeline Player have been added to allow users to play/pause and to navigate per frame without setting the focus area to the timeline. This is especially helpful for speeding up the insert edit use case when having the source player in focus. For more information, see Global Keyboard Shortcuts .
Eventlist Copy from Item to Timeline Option
Users can now easily copy existing markers from source items to the timeline for further usage. For more information, see Timeline Marker Pane .
Timeline EDL Import / Export
It is possible now to download a open timeline as VidiCore sequence document or as VidiEditor Timeline JSON and to import it back to a VidiEditor session of the same system. For more information, see EDL Import / Export [VE UG] , Timeline Sequences Data [VE OG] , Timeline Data Transformation [VE OG] , and Timeline Configuration Parameters.
Mosaic Effect (WRE only)
A new mosaic effect exists allowing one to blur video content per segment by either blurring the complete segment or a part of it using a mask. For more information, see Video Effects.

Keyframe-Based Editing of Video Effects (WRE only)
A view allowing for keyframe-based editing of video effects has been added. Advanced users can NOW animate the video effect over time using a specific view. For more information, see Keyframe based Editing View (WRE only) [VE UG] .
Web Render Engine
The timeline playback can now be used with Web Render Engine instead of Server Side Render API. For more information, see Web Render Engine Beta.
