Adding a file to an exsiting item [MP UG]
MediaPortal now provides the capability for users to upload selected files directly via the Formats tab, even if the item does not yet contain a shape.
Uploading files to existing items
File Upload Without Existing Shape: Users can upload files to an item even when no shape has been previously assigned to it. This allows for quicker and more versatile file handling, especially when working with items that are yet to be fully structured.
Configurable Import Rules: The system offers configurable import rules, allowing users to control which file types and shapes can be imported. These rules ensure that only permitted formats are uploaded, helping to maintain consistency and organization within the system.

Attach file context menu
Upload a file component directly within the interface.
Select one item from search results and upload a new file component to it.
Choose whether to append the file to the existing item or create a new item.
If configured, the assigned Ingest Workflow will process the uploaded file automatically.
Uploads can be limited to specific file types based on file extension.
