Supported Media Types
The VidiEditor timeline supports different types of media segments. In most cases it acts as proxy editor using a proxy copy of the media for preview while high quality media is used for publishing and generating a new media file out of the timeline. It depends mainly on the system setting and its architecture what elements are usable in what way.
Please see following sections for more detailed information about supported types:
Supported Media
Video (see Supported Proxy Video Format for technical preconditions)
Audio Only (see Supported Audio Format for technical preconditions)
Images (see Supported Image Formats for technical preconditions)
Animated Graphics ( see Animated Graphics (On-prem/Hybrid/BYOC) for technical preconditions)
Please note that when video or audio media is added to the timeline, it will always be considered with 2 audio channels in the timeline. When added to the timeline, it’s decided what 2 channels are used.
